Access is a staffing question before it is a hardware question
The useful starting point is rarely "which lock" but "who needs to open what, and when". A single tenancy with two staff needs something very different from a suite where a cleaner, a bookkeeper and three practitioners all arrive at different hours. Once that picture is clear, the keying arrangement follows: separate keys where areas must stay private, a master arrangement where one person needs everything, restricted keys where uncontrolled copying is the real risk.
- Front-of-house, back-of-house and storeroom separation
- Master and sub-master keying so managers hold one key rather than six
- Restricted key systems where duplication needs to be controlled
- Rekeying when a staff member leaves and a key does not come back
